Two days. Two formats. One epic weekend of dragon boat racing!
The Auckland Regional Championships bring together crews from across the region for the ultimate battle on the water.
π Event Schedule
πΆ Saturday 14 March – Standard Boat Racing

Time: 7.30am – 6.00pm
-
Race Distances: 200m, 500m (2 heats + finals), 2000m (1 race per team)

Race Classes: Mixed, Women, Breast Cancer Survivors (BCS) – minimum 3 entries per class

Crew size: 18–26 people, including sweep & drummer
-
Mixed crews: Minimum 8 female paddlers
-
Women’s crews: Must be 100% women
-
BCS crews: Must be 100% BCS paddlers
-
All crews must have an allocated L2+ sweep
-
No double rostering across crews
πΆ Sunday 15 March – Small Boat Racing

Time: 12.00pm – 6.00pm
-
Race Distance: 200m only (2 heats + finals)

Race Classes: Mixed, Women, Breast Cancer Survivors (BCS) – minimum 3 entries per class

Crew size: 12–14 people, including sweep & drummer
-
Mixed crews: Minimum 4 female paddlers
-
Women’s crews: Must be 100% women paddlers (male sweep allowed)

BCS crews: Must be 100% BCS paddlers (male sweep allowed)

Open crews: Any mix of paddlers

All crews must have an allocated L2+ sweep

No double rostering permitted

NZ Pathway to Nationals
Competing in the Standard Boat racing on Saturday qualifies your team for the NZ National Championships.
Small Boat racing on Sunday is a stand-alone event and does not serve as a qualifier.
