Race to the Tower - Corporate Splash
Race to the Tower – Corporate Splash
Why enter Corporate Splash?
Corporate Splash is designed for workplaces, staff groups and organisations looking for a team-building activity that people will actually remember.
It is a chance to:
- boost team spirit through a shared challenge
- build communication, timing and trust
- bring out some friendly workplace competition
- show off your team culture with uniforms, colours or costumes
- get your people outside and onto the water
- compete for the Tower Trophy and a year of bragging rights
No dragon boating experience is needed. ADBA provides the boats, paddles, lifejackets, coaching, sweeps and race support.
How it works
Corporate Splash includes a coached training session and a race night.
Each team learns the basics before race night, then lines up against other organisations in 200m races towards the Sky Tower.
Step 1: Training
Each team receives a one-hour coached training session during the week before race night.
You will learn basic paddling technique, timing, race commands and how to work together as one crew.
When: Week nights (TBC)
Times: 5pm, 6pm or 7pm
Where: Pier Z, Westhaven Marina
Training is not compulsory, but it is strongly recommended. It helps your team feel more confident and gives you a better chance on race night.
Step 2: Race night
Race night is where it all comes together.
Teams meet at Pier Z, Westhaven Marina, for briefing before heading onto the water.
Each crew races in two 200m heats, with the fastest teams progressing to the grand final. Racing is followed by prize-giving and the all-important presentation of the Tower Trophy.
Arrival time: TBA
Location: Pier Z, Westhaven Marina
Race format: Two 200m heats, followed by finals
Whether your team wins the trophy or simply wins the award for best office banter, you will leave with a shared story and plenty to talk about back at work.
Team size
Each Corporate Splash crew is made up of 10 paddlers and 1 caller.
Talk to us if you have more people interested, as there may be options for multiple teams depending on event capacity.

Entry fee
Corporate team entry fee: $430 + GST per team
This includes:
- one coached training session
- race night entry
- boats, paddles and lifejackets
- sweep and coaching support
- race-day delivery and safety support
You will be invoiced once your registration and training session are confirmed. Full payment is required before training week.
What to wear and bring
Wear sports gear or light, weather-appropriate clothing that can get wet.
Avoid heavy hoodies, jeans or thick track pants, as these can become uncomfortable on the water.
We recommend bringing:
- activewear or team uniform
- light windbreaker
- hat and sunglasses if needed
- towel and change of clothes
- water bottle
- team colours, corporate tees or themed costumes
- enthusiasm, noise and a little competitive spirit
All paddlers must be able to swim 50 metres. Lifejackets are provided and must be worn on the water.
Safety first
Corporate Splash is fun, but safety comes first.
ADBA follows a maritime-approved Safety Operating Procedure. Every paddler must complete a safety waiver and provide next of kin details before their first session.
Qualified safety officers and a support boat are on hand during on-water activity, and all teams receive safety instructions before getting into the boat.
You are in safe hands, so your team can focus on paddling, racing and chasing the Tower Trophy.
