By registering as a member, you agree to the following terms:
Membership benefits
- Membership period runs from 29 September 2025 to 30 Septmeber 2026
- You will have the ability to vote at the ADBA AGM
- Voting rights at the ADBA Anngual General Meeting (AGM)
- Eligibility to compete at events within New Zealand
- Receive ADBA updates and notices
- Invitations to the annual sports awards and ADBA social events.
Terms & conditions
General
- Membership fees are non-refunable and non-transferable
- By registering, you agree to abide by the Auckland Dragon Boat Association Constitution
- Members must abide by the ADBA Code of Conduct and all safety procedures.
- Breaches of these rules may result in suspension or cancellation of membership
- Members are responsible for updating memberships details, including next of kin information
- ABDA may contact members via direct email for important updates
Safety and participation
- Dragon boating involves risk. While ADBA takes all reasonable steps to reduce risk, members participate at their own risk.
- Members are responsible for ensuring they are fit to partipate, and must disclose any relevant medical conditions to their manager, coach or sweep before entering a boat
- Members must
- Follow the instructions of the sweep, support boat officer, and all ADBA officials
- Wear an NZ-certified lifejack at all trainins and events, and know how to use it
- Be able to swim 50m in paddling clothing
- Report any damaged equipment via the Injuries and Incidents form
- Treat all ADBA equipment (boats, paddles, lifejackets) with care and accpet liability for damage caused by negligence
- Paddling under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited
- Members under 12 years of ages are not permitted on boats
Events and training
- Training and events may be cancelled at any time for safety reasons
- Members must attend a safety breifing, including capsize procedures, before paddling - lead by their sweep
- The sweep has full authority on the water all times
Privacy and media
- Personal information is collected for membership, safety and communication purposes and will be shared outside of the Auckland Dragon Boat Association except as required by law
- Photos or videos take at training and events may be used in ADBA promotions, website or social media.
Volunteering
- ADBA is a volunteer-run Society. Members will be asked to support events or activities to help the association run smoothly.

- Join the Auckland Dragon Boat members group (answer all the questions when joining) to keep up to date with ADBA specific messages
