Auckland Dragon Boat Association offers fun, active and memorable team building experiences on the Waitematā Harbour. Dragon boating is a great way to bring staff together, build communication, encourage teamwork and add a bit of friendly competition to your next workplace event.

No paddling experience is needed. We provide the boats, paddles, safety equipment and on-water support. Your team just needs to bring comfortable activewear, a sense of adventure and a willingness to work together.

We’ve got two great options:

1. Corporate team building sessions

Our custom dragon boating team building sessions are designed for groups of 16 to 120 paddlers.

Your workplace crew will learn basic paddling technique, get out on the water, practise working together and, where suitable, race each other in a fun and supportive environment.

Sessions can be adapted to suit your group size, confidence level and event goals. Some teams want a relaxed social activity, while others want a competitive challenge with bragging rights firmly on the line.

Corporate team building sessions are weather and tide dependent. Weekend sessions are usually easiest to arrange, with weekday sessions available on a case-by-case basis.

ADBA is a community-run organisation led by volunteers, many of whom have full-time jobs. We will do our best to make your team building event happen, and flexibility with dates and times helps us find the right option for your group.

2. Race to the Tower - Corporate Splash

For workplaces looking for a bigger challenge, Race to the Tower – Corporate Splash is ADBA’s signature corporate dragon boating event.

Auckland businesses go head-to-head in fast 200m races on the Waitematā Harbour, racing towards the Sky Tower and competing for the Tower Trophy.

It is a high-energy evening event that combines teamwork, competition and plenty of fun on the water. Corporate Splash is ideal for organisations that want a memorable team building event with a clear goal, a race-day atmosphere and a little bit of Auckland harbour magic.
